In our series of gvp happy customers stories, today we are sharing story of Sona Devi, lives in Gonda, UP.
When GVP is talking about , systems specially designed for rural market, we always think one important issue ” MONEY” , if we are going to sell our products in the rural market it’s very hard to sell even 1-2 pieces in a day.there is a huge requirement of solar products in the rural market but that is also true that villagers don’t have money to buy it.
Solar Rental is a Solution:
With the partnership of Solar Shakti ( A Lucknow based company ) GVP is running a program of providing solar products on rent. This procress helps villages to get the system at minimum monthly rently which is just ₹400/ month.
In order to make the solar kits readily available and affordable to the rural poor, Solar Shakti with coordination of GVP, is working on starting a rental business model that will allow poor village folks make small payments every month to take benefits of Solar Lighting Systems.
“When our marketing team reached villages, people are very curious to know about the products and they liked the products very much. But when we introduce the prices, most of them not able to buy it.”-Ashutosh Singh, CEO-Solar Shakri
Story of Sona Devi:
When Solar Shakti team approached this women, first of all she thanked to the team members and the provider for solar product. Sona Devi , one of the women involved with the program, said that the solar project is a welcome relief for the rural folks in her village because its remote location
Look at this warm conversation between the team and Sona Devi;
SS: कैसा चल रहा है सिस्टम?
Sona Devi:
These women lack decision-making power, economic power and the power of choice when it comes to selecting the means of lighting and cooking. We are continuously working in this area and providing affordable power for rural India.
