Those who love bikes would surely be considering the latest models as their next acquisition. A model that is sure to make its way into the consideration set is 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400. Comparison with the Predecessor

As compared to last year’s model in the same series, the new model is dearer by INR 10,000 and sports several improvements that justify it. These include a better engine design (DOHC vs SOHC), increased power output of the engine from 35 HP to 40 HP, higher torque and acceleration and hence the speed. Being BSVI ready is another of its accomplishments.

The Engine

The new model sports an engine with much more power leading to much better performance.

• The engine of the new Dominar is 373.3cc single-cylinder, KTM-derived and liquid-cooled.
• It has a DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) layout as compared to SOHC in the previous version. To accommodate this, the engine head has been increased in size.
• It includes triple spark plugs in its set-up.
• The power and torque have been amplified.
• The resultant acceleration and speed are greater.
• The latest model of the motorbike is also compliant with the BSVI norms.

Considering the modifications as compared to the previous model, the new version is expected to be more highway friendly.

Other Specifications

Details other than the engine specifications were revealed earlier and include the following:

• A weight gain of 2.5 kgs that accommodates a much more powerful engine
• Instrument Console with better features such as alert and warning messages, gear shift indicator and others
• Upside Down Forks for the front suspension system as against the conventional forks
• Front Disc equipped with a Radial Calliper
• Twin-exit exhaust
• Standard Dual Channel Airbrake System plus a disk brake on both ends

If we compare the new Dominar 400 vs Duke 390, Dominar seems to have a better set of features considering the difference in the cost of the two models, amounting to almost INR 70,000. For the actual evaluation, you will need to wait for the launch. The real performance cannot be judged from mere specifications.

The new 2019 Dominar 400 is likely to be launched in a time span of a few weeks. It seems to be all set for a power-packed launch. The compilation of features raises the expectations for an awesome riding experience. A refined motor is also on the list of expectations to be met.  On the appearance front, the model will be available in a total of four different colours, the two new colours being red and silver.

If you are keen on acquiring this model, do consider the various purchase options. Though buying the bike on full payment is an option, there are other options available that put a lesser burden on your pockets. You could consider buying the bike through an exchange scheme. A loan is another viable option. Small monthly EMIs make it easier to enjoy the bike while shelling out very little every month.
