For various standards, there are different courses as per the NCERT. The course is well researched and perfectly designed that can add great value to the learners.
For doing a better result in your class 10 board exam, you must refer to the NCERT Solutions. The NCERT solutions for class 10 Science Life Processes is the 6th chapter in the book which gives you an idea of the structure and the question that can be asked pertaining to the chapter. The following article will brief on the syllabus that this solution book follows:
What Are Life Processes?
Life processes are the functions performed by the body to stay alive. Movements on a very minute scale are not visible to the eyes, such as molecular movement. We know that every living thing is made up of tissues which are made out of cells and they have small components. It is in their behavior that the cellular components break down because of the environmental effects. But, this breakdown also needs simultaneous restoration or else the living thing would die.
Nutrition
Nutrition is gained from the food we eat because we need energy. The minerals that we acquire from the food we eat are broken down into nutritional components which are essential for the daily work. There are different ways in which organisms obtain nutrition. They are of the following types:
1) Autotrophic Nutrition- By this process, the plants derive nutrition from simple inorganic sources like carbon dioxide and water which is fulfilled by the process of photosynthesis. They take food from outside which is carbon dioxide and water and transform them into energy that is carbohydrate in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll.
2) Heterotrophic Nutrition- Here the nutrition gaining depends upon the availability and the type of food. Some organisms such as fungi obtain nutrition by breaking food outside the body. Parasites derive organism from animals without killing it.
3) Nutrition in Humans- Humans gain nutrition from the different sources of food they eat like bread, meat green veggies and so on. There are five processes of conversion of nutrition of food they are ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation, and excretion.
Respiration
It is the process by which living organisms breathe by taking in oxygen and giving out carbon dioxide. There are two processes of respiration aerobic which happen in the presence of oxygen and anaerobic process which occurs in the absence of oxygen.
Transportation
It is the process by which blood, food derivatives, and other essential items in transported around the body network to support the molecular changes needed for growth. Heart, platelets, arteries, and lymph are responsible for this. In plants, such process is taken care of by phloem, xylem tissues, vessels and tracheids of the root for transporting water and food.
Excretion
It is the process by which all the unwanted substances in the body are removed through the anus in human beings. In plants, excretion takes place in the form of resins, gums, and transpiration.
Thus, the CBSE class 10 Science Life Processes chapter deals with the topics above.
